SSC CGL Syllabus:-Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination in four Tiers, namely Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4.

While SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2 are conducted in Online Mode on the other hand, Tier 3 is done in Pen and Paper style, and Grade 4 is Computer Skill Test. Candidates may proceed through this article for all information about the SSC CGL Syllabus 2020. SSC CGL Syllabus

The SSC CGL syllabus covers various topics related to the 10th and 12th grade. The syllabus for the CGL Exam varies with respect to the Tiers.

The SSC CGL exam syllabus 2020 is as follows:

Tier I:- Topics related to General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language & comprehension.

Tier II:- Topics related to Quantitative Aptitude, English Language & Comprehension, Statistics, General Studies( Finance & Economics)

Tier III:- This exam is a descriptive exam to evaluate a candidate’s Language skills in Hindi/English. This is only for candidates appearing for Statistical Investigator ( Grade II) & Compiler.

Tier IV:-This test comprises of Data Entry Speed Test & Computer Proficiency Test. This exam is for candidates appearing for specific posts under the Government of India.

General awareness is not something you can expect to master in a day but from an exam point of view, if you spend time consistently, you can perform well in relatively less time as compared to Quantitative Aptitude. This section is very important because this is the only section which can be attempted quickly i.e. in 7-8 minutes and at the same time, decent marks can be scored in this section if prepared well. The questions in this section are designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers. The scope of quantitative ability is clearly defined and is limited to class 10th level mathematics. If you have good command over this section, you can score good marks. All you need to do is attempt the questions with good accuracy because there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

SSC CGL Tier I is mandatory for all the posts and its marks are added for further process as well. If you do not clear cut-off of Tier I Exam then you will not be eligible for Tier II & III. Below table shows the section-wise break up of questions and marks asked in SSC CGL Tier I exam.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2019-20

In CGL Tier II two papers will be conducted on the same day. Paper I is Quantitative Aptitude and Paper II is English. In addition, for the posts of JSO and AAO, Paper 3 and Paper 4 are conducted respectively.

SSC CGL 2020 Exam Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for SSC CGL 2020 has three important features:-

1. Essential Educational Qualifications

2. Age Limit

3. Citizenship: Candidate must be a citizen of India

Educational Qualifications for SSC CGL (As on 01-01-2020)

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university/institution. The educational qualifications vary according to the post for SSC CGL 2020 and are listed below:

Physical Fitness Requirements: Apart from the above, there are certain requisite physical standards for Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive Officer), Sub-Inspector in CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and Sub-Inspector in NIA (National Investigation Agency).

SSC CGL 2020 Age Limit (as on 01-01-2020)

The minimum age limit defined for SSC CGL is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 32 years.
