SSC JE Syllabus:- To ace SSC JE Exam, candidates must be well versed with SSC JE Syllabus. As the syllabus is really vast, it is necessary for every candidate to be acquainted with every single topic been asked in the SSC JE Exam.

The SSC Junior Engineering (SSC JE) exam has two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. The Paper-I of SSC JE 2020 exam will be conducted from 30th March to 2nd April 2020. Candidates appearing for SSC JE exam should be aware of SSC JE syllabus 2020 along with all topics. The SSC JE Syllabus for 2019 consists of two different stages – Paper I comprises of Objective-type questions and Paper II is of Descriptive type/Written Test.

SSC JE Syllabus for Paper I

This Paper is an objective/computer-based test of 200 marks for a duration of 2 hours. Given below are the different sections of Paper I:

  1. General Intelligence & Reasoning
  2. General Awareness
  3. General Engineering:
  • Part-A (Civil Engineering & Structural Engineering)
  • Part-B (Electrical Engineering)
  • Part-C (Mechanical Engineering)

1. General Intelligence & Reasoning: This General Intelligence syllabus section mainly consists of questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This test particularly includes questions that are designed to test the candidate’s capacity to deal with arithmetical computations, abstract ideas, symbols, and their relationships and other analytical functions. Listed below are the topics under this section:

2. General Awareness: Under this category, the questions mainly test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her, knowledge of current affairs, everyday observations and its various applications to society. The questions in this section will be such that candidates do not require a special study of any particular discipline. This section also includes questions pertaining to India and its neighbouring countries especially relating to the following topics:

3. General Engineering: Candidates have to choose from any one of these three topics given below. The breakdown analysis of each part is done under the SSC JE Syllabus for Paper – II. This section includes three parts:

SSC JE Syllabus for Paper II

This paper consists of three parts as mentioned above. The Paper-II is a written test of 300 marks for a duration of 2 hours on any of the following parts chosen by the respective candidate:

  • Part-A (Civil Engineering & Structural Engineering)
  • Part-B (Electrical Engineering)
  • Part-C (Mechanical Engineering)

Candidates need to select any one of the parts which they wish to take during the exam. Basically, Paper-II of the SSC JE syllabus includes a detailed explanation of each of the topics under each part as discussed in the General Engineering section of Paper I.

The subjects of SSC JE syllabus Part B i.e. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering are also part of optional Subjects of UPSC Syllabus.
